introducing tatu

Tatu, Pub, Restaurant, Lounge & Whisk(e)y Bar, brings a fresh new concept to Zanzibar’s restaurant and bar life. Set in the middle of the historic centre of Stone Town Zanzibar it sits right on the water front, next to Tipu Tip house.

Tatu means 3 in Kiswahili. Brainstorming about a name for the exciting new place we wanted to open in Stone Town, we came up with name Tatu as the building has 3 floors (lateral thinking from our side as you can imagine)

1st Floor: our bar/pub has an old style counter running into the balcony, overlooking the Indian Ocean. It’s the perfect place to meet up with some friends for the evening, or to have a couple of drinks before having dinner. This area has free internet access throughout the day, and flat screen television for all mayor sport events. Pub food & snacks are served from12.00 till 22.00 hours

2nd Floor: where we serve modern pub food with a Zanzibar twist. To find out more take a look at the menu. Outside lunch & dinners on our balcony are all possible. Next to the a la carte menu, we offer daily changing specials.

3rd Floor: our rooftop, where we have a funky Lounge and a relaxed Whisky Cigar Bar, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The place to be on Zanzibar for Whisky’s trendy Cocktails and a great atmosphere. We are proud to offer you the biggest collection of single malts in East Africa, 85 (and still counting) different single malts from all over the world.
